This 8-hour tour of the Northeast of São Miguel Island begins with a visit to the Azorean Pineapple Plantation, where you can learn about the entire production process of this typical island product. Next, the group proceeds to Miradouro do Salto da Farinha, which offers a spectacular view of a 40-meter waterfall. Then, we will visit Cascata do Poço Azul, which involves a 15-minute walk. Although it is a relatively easy walk, we understand that not everyone may be able to participate.
The next stop is the famous Ribeira dos Caldeirões, a natural park that houses a series of waterfalls, as well as ancient water mills. It’s a great place for a walk and to appreciate the natural beauty of the region.
After a morning full of activities, the group takes a break for lunch at a local restaurant, where they can sample the typical cuisine of the island.
After lunch, if it’s open, the group proceeds to the Environmental Center of Priolo, where they can learn more about the island’s endemic flora and fauna.
The next tourist spots include Miradouro da Ponta do Sossego and Miradouro da Ponta da Madrugada, one of the best places to admire the sunrise in São Miguel.
